New Regulations for Equine Transport
From 5 January 2008 those moving horses "as part of
an economic activity" i.e. as a business, will be required to have
someone qualified with either a C.E.T. (Cert. in Equine Transport)
for journeys over 65 kms but not exceeding 8 hrs - or an A.C.E.T.
(Advanced Cert.) for journeys exceeding 8 hrs.
The exception (Single Animal Exemption) will be for up to four horses -
but which will require one person, in attendance at all times, to
be designated as responsible for each horse.
